Turn The Page

Hmm ... so I break my rule the very first day. Remember?? A blog a day keeps the psychiatrist away. Yeah … that is a rule which needs to be followed, well, at least by the preacher!!

Anyways, rules are meant to be broken and especially in a country like ours, they are meant to be bent, looped-around and made a mockery of so what's the big deal? Actually, there was an important reason why I did not come up with a post yesterday. As soon as I sat on the office computer and opened a new blank Word document (God bless Bill Gates), to my amazement, someone stopped me. It was ... ummm ... my conscience. (Well yes, I also have one).

It told me not to waste my office resources which I guess include a computer, a decent speed net connection, an AC (bloody which remains shut for majority of the day) and more than that, 8 man hours as they call it here.

“Surely “, it said to me, "you can't waste your time sitting in your company office writing a blog. So what if you've entered the last month of your association (They call me an associate … nice term) with the company, you must still stride towards the vision of the company ". I said, “Wtf!??”. It continued, “Shut up!! After all, you get paid by your company not for doing something that pleases you but something that pleases your company or better still, its customers.” The fact that not even a single customer of my company knows my name or even knows that I exist is worth mentioning here. Well, as crappy as it sounds, you cannot help but be touched and deeply moved by the argument and so, you say to yourself,” what am I doing? I can surely do better for my company so what if the company doesn't care about me; at least I should do my best. I felt as if my eyes had been opened ... so I decided not to spend my precious office time blogging.

Keeping in mind the interests of my employer, I thought that I will not misuse my company’s resources (at least for one day … my conscience gets frustrated very easily … and see it didn’t even try to stop me today) so instead, I decided to misuse my friends’. I took his bike along with him to a small ride to the nearest market to enjoy a sumptuous Vanilla ice-cream shake. Quite aptly, I thought, the bike was an LML Freedom, symbolic of the feeling you get driving it on busy city roads with your company ID tucked away in your pocket knowing that you were supposed to be on your seat or in your cubicle as it is now. A world class driver that I am … hehee… the experience was even more fun!!

This reminds me of one irritating little thing …ask any employee of any damn company, he’ll tell you that the ID card which is supposed to be around your neck all the time is the most embarrassing part of their job. It keeps giving you that bonded labor feeling but you cannot do anything but keep it that way and mind you, if the card gets stolen it costs some decent money to be remade.

Anyways, the short trip lasted for 2 hrs and by the time we came back to office, it was 5:45 … time to drag your a** back to your home in the company cab, for some reason, the time of day that I enjoy the most!! Maybe because I sleep right through it but then someone has very rightfully said:
Your life depends on your dreams
So what are you thinking, just go and enjoy a sound sleep.

Cheers!!
Mohit

Numero Uno

All right all right … so here I go. They say, Blogging is hot, or should I say cool? Whatever!! If everyone is doing it, I am not going to be left behind. So here starts my blogging career and hopefully, it will be a tad better than my software career. But why am I writing about software in my blog when I do not like it at all… it is my blog and I should be writing about the stuff that I like, stuff that I enjoy …hmm so that’s the best part about a blog … you have complete control and it bloody well makes up for the fact that your life is pretty much out of your control in the same way as … ummm … lemme think…yes!! as if you were a highly illiquid stock which, forget buying, no one is even interested in selling. They just hope that one day you will delist yourself from the stock exchange of life making way for perhaps a better stock. Be prepared for such stuff in my blog, after all, I am a proud MBA aspirant as I have been for the last 3 years.

But hey … I don’t know anything about this … are there some rules?? Will I be punished for writing something, which I shouldn’t have? Will a fatwa be issued against me … I hope not? (Btw, I know who cares what an outlandish guy writes in his blog when there are better things to do). Hmm … now I remember there were some conditions that I was supposed to read carefully when I was creating my blog. But they don’t think people read them … do they! So I just accepted all the terms and conditions hoping sincerely that the following was NOT written in the rule 693 of the list:
The user, by signing in to our blogging site, pledges his life to the cause of blogging and will not run away when asked to sacrifice his soul for this noble cause

Anyways … let’s move on to a more pertinent question. When should one start blogging? The answer is: the moment you realize that you are getting oh so closer to insanity. You should start doing it because it will surely go a long way in restoring your sanity levels.
Outlandish as it may sound, but according to me:
A blog a day keeps the psychiatrist away!! (Sounds stolen?? who cares!! This is my blog and I will do whatever pleases me).
Ok before you go ahead, let me ask you a simple question. Who the hell are you reading my personal blog (what did you say … you are one of my friends in whose scrapbook, I pleaded ‘em to read my blog and leave a comment). Ok then you can go ahead and in fact, I think you should start writing one of your own if you haven’t started yet because as you read this, it is clear that you have nothing better to do … ok plz don’t take it seriously, I know you guys rock!!

Blogs can be your substitute for spirituality and the divine. Speaking of divine, I have always been drawn towards all the divine things in life. Divine = Di + vine = The wine!! (What rubbish … you think? As if I care … welcome to my blog … I am the ruler here). There you go, I have found the ultimate divine secret (blame it on the guy who told me to read impossible as i m possible … crap!!). I hope you know there is no better way to connect to God than indulging in this divine stuff.

All the frustration, which has troubled you, you can just let it go in your blog without the fear of any retaliation from your blog. Blogs are good … they will always be with you, always agree with what you say, what you feel, in fact, I would go to the extent of saying that Blogs are a man’s best friend and yes, even better than books are.

Its only words and words are all I have … to take your mind away!

P.S. If by any chance, you have come till here, reading all the crap I have written above, you can surely add one thing in the my positives section of your resume that your tolerance levels are extremely high ... I am already a fan of your patience !! Meet you in my next post ( hopefully !! )
